MySpace gives everyone a Top 24 friend list
Many MySpace users have desired to increase the number of “Top” friends — the friends whose pictures are posted on the user’s profile page — from the standard 8 to 12, 16, or more. Many creative people have posted methods for doing this on sites that provide code for customizing MySpace user profiles.
MySpace has now added a selector to its “Edit Your Top Friends” page that lets you choose the size of your top friends list. The choices for number of friends in your “Top” list are:
- Top 4
- Top 8
- Top 12
- Top 16
- Top 20
- Top 24
It’s a nice change on the MySpace.com development team’s part!

There is a girl with 32 people in her top friends. All I can get is 24. Please help. I need more top friends space. Thank you Shawn.

Shawn, the girl who has 32 peole in her top friends must be using code that wasn’t provided by MySpace.com. I looked at one of these codes a while ago, and it was a lot of lines of HTML script and a lot of work to set up. Then, once you have it set up, you can’t change anyone who’s on your top 32 (or whatever) without going into your profile and manually editing the code. It was very inconvenient to work with. Are you sure you really need more than 24 people in your “Top Friends” list?

m.y.r.o.n: to have 40 people on your top friendlist, you’re going to have to go outside what MySpace provides and insert code into your MySpace profile.
This is a question that I’m working on as part of my O’Reilly Media on MySpace project. Feel free to friend me there, and DEMAND that I tell you how to have 40 people on your top friendlist, so that task won’t slip off the table for me.

Okay…i am greatful for the top 24…but now i cant seem to see all my friends… Right now I have 53 but when i click on the link to see “all my friends” I get pg 1 of 1 and it only shows me 38…why 38 whats wrong???
Please help I want to aee all my friends…. I dont know who Im leaving out!!!

Cora - this could be just a temporary situation where MySpace is having problems with their computers or their database. I’ve seen strange things like this happen some days, but then it’s corrected later on.
Does it always show you 38 friends? Or does the number change? For me, it changed, when the problem was occuring.

Hi, I’ve been trying to find a site that would show me how to get a TOP 24 FRIENDS LIST… but have been unsuccessful so far….. I did click on “edit friends list” but it does not give me the option of how many “top friend list” I wanted…. Thanks for any help that you could give me!

Well I have 40 people on my top.. But I see many profiles with more than 40. Like sometimes separating guys from girls, and or family from friends. I’m trying to find the code for that but I can’t seem to.
